My girlfriend and I went here for her birthday. I have dined at many restaurants and Farmer's daughters is now one of my favourites. The flavours were simply sublime! We did the 5 course degustation. Each course was unique and stimulated different taste sensations. It is hard to describe the party that was going on in my mouth. The bread was an absolute standout! The cocktails were also flavourful and delicious. We had some tea at the end to finish the meal and we both enjoyed the chance to sit back and relax at the end of the meal. The wait staff were attentive and were able to give us brief but useful introductions to each course. I would highly recommend this place!

Dined at the rooftop and food was just D-E-licious. My favorites were the soda bread, chicken pie, rib eye and desserts. Oh they do some really sick chips too. It’s a nice chilled rooftop with excellent service. Lovely spot for a boozy arvo lunch.

Farmers Daughter at the top of the CBD has been on my list for ages and I finally went. From my understanding, it is an Australian-based fine dining restaurant that highlights ingredients cultivated in Australia, which intrigued me. The experience definitely threw me back to growing up. The soda bread was a sweetish style, reminding me of raisin bread without the raisins. With the butter it was good, but I would have preferred a non-sweet version. The entrees I tried were amazing. My favourite was definitely the carpaccio, which was incredibly fresh and full of flavor, and the sauce made it stand out even more. The ham was something I was a bit sceptical about ordering, but as the most popular dish, we tried it. It was exactly what I expected, but the flavour, sauce, and accompanying salad made me enjoy fresh deli ham more than ever. For the mains, I tried the club steak. For the price, it was as good as you can get and the quality was solid. The most interesting and my favourite main was the chicken pie. It was unique and better than any pub or wine bar chicken pie I have had. The chicken inside was not dry and had a pulled texture that made it very enjoyable. I also tried the crumbed fish to get some seafood. The fish was fresh, but overall it was standard and good. It is not something I would order again as crumbed fish starts to taste very similar over time. I finished off with some brie and biscuits. The brie was probably too cold and could have benefited from sitting out a bit. The biscuits were good, and the plate also included raisin bread. Overall, this is a really good restaurant and one of my favourites that I have visited in recent months.

Had a great time at Farmer's Daughter. Service was very warm and personable and the food was all well prepared. The beetroot salad and the cured fish were a touch acidic, however that's easily fixed. The scallops, dry-aged ribeye, soda bread, and fennel burrata salad were highlights. Nice place to drop by for cocktails and food.

It was a memorable experience - 6 course degustation (added the beef rib - amazing). Well balanced menu and each dish was faultless. Really loved the salmon which came with their own bread. There was one vegetarian in our party who also enjoyed the menu , great that they can provide a similar experience here. Very good drinks list with some nice Australian whisky, wines, etc. Service was also fantastic and definitely a highlight for us - will return.

We chose to sit upstairs, and the restaurant was quite busy as usual, so definitely remember to make a booking. The menu is simple — it’s a set menu, and you can add extra dishes if you’d like, but if you don’t have a big appetite, the set is more than enough. The seating is a little cramped, but the service is great. As an Asian diner, I personally found the dishes really delicious with unique flavours. Even the bread had an interesting and memorable. But！the 5-course menu is designed to take around 3 hours, so the pace of the dishes is slow. If you’re in a hurry, you’ll need to ask them to speed things up. The wine selection, however, is extensive and very good. Overall, it’s a place worth returning to.

It’s not just farm-to-table—it’s region-to-glass, executed with confidence. Every dish was excellent, but the additional beef short rib is an absolute must. If it’s offered, order it—future you will be grateful. The menu balances refinement with generosity, and there’s a warmth to the cooking that stops it from ever feeling overworked or precious. The service deserves special mention. The team is welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely engaging. Questions about the food or wine are met with insight rather than rehearsed lines, and there’s a relaxed professionalism that makes the whole experience feel effortless—no small feat in a fine-dining setting. In short, Farmer’s Daughters is a standout Melbourne dining destination. Exceptional food, well-considered wine pairings, and service that makes you feel truly looked after. A restaurant well worth seeking out—and revisiting—when you’re in Melbourne.

My wife and I had a fantastic experience her. We went in February 2026 and got the summer set menu which consisted of 5 courses We paid additional for oysters to start. They were delicious. Course 1 was a tomato dish which was perfectly balanced. I didn’t think I would love a dish of all tomato, but I did Course 2 was the trout and soda bread. The soda bread stole the show but the trout was still fantastic. Course 3 was a salad which was yum although I don’t really count a salad as a course Course 4 was the venison which I loved. I thought it was cooked perfectly Course 5 was dessert which was also amazing The service was some of the best service I’ve ever had. It was the first time I had ever been asked of any dietary preferences (not just requirements like allergies etc) I would definitely come back again to see what they do in other seasons

Wow. Not much else to say. As soon as we arrived until we left the service was amazing. Our server Nick was funny and friendly and incredible. The food was also sensational. This is not a restaurant with stingy portions, and the quality is incredible. Even the story of the food and where it comes from was great. Both wine matches are delicious as well (Yes they let me and my wife pick the different pairings) Overall this place is a must visit for anyone visiting Melbourne who wants a taste of delicious Victorian food and wine.
